ANALISIS DAMPAK KONSUMSI BERITA DI MEDIA SOSIAL (TIKTOK DAN INSTAGRAM) TERHADAP PEMBENTUKAN KARAKTER GENERASI Z DI INDONESIA

Perkembangan teknologi digital telah menjadikan media sosial sebagai bagian yang tidak terpisahkan dari kehidupan Generasi Z. Media sosial tidak hanya digunakan sebagai sarana komunikasi, tetapi juga sebagai media untuk memperoleh informasi, mengekspresikan diri, dan membangun interaksi sosial. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji dampak media sosial terhadap karakter Generasi Z melalui pendekatan studi literatur. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi literatur dengan mengumpulkan berbagai referensi dari jurnal nasional dan sumber ilmiah yang relevan. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis untuk mengidentifikasi pengaruh media sosial terhadap pembentukan karakter Generasi Z. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media sosial memiliki hubungan yang erat dengan karakter Generasi Z serta memberikan dampak positif dan negatif. Dampak positif yang ditemukan meliputi peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi, akses informasi yang lebih luas, pengembangan kreativitas, dan peningkatan kesadaran sosial. Sementara itu, dampak negatif yang muncul antara lain penurunan interaksi sosial secara langsung, penyebaran informasi palsu, perilaku konsumtif, cyberbullying, serta gangguan kesehatan mental. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan pengawasan dan pendampingan dari keluarga, sekolah, dan lingkungan sekitar agar penggunaan media sosial dapat memberikan manfaat yang optimal bagi perkembangan karakter Generasi
